Real Move's attempt to quickly expand its subscriber base has hit a snag after the national broadcasting and telecom watchdog declined to award the remaining 1.75 million mobile-phone numbers out of the 3.5 million allotted to CAT Telecom, which will pass on most numbers to Real Move to provide service.

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Com-mission (NBTC) still has a long list of tasks to finish, as well as a possible legal challenge to overcome, as it races to auction the 2.1-gigahertz spectrum licences.
